Virus E-Mails.
 

Some asshole is sending me e-mails with virusses in it. He uses diffrent e-mail addresses. What should/can I do?

Learn a little more about how email virus works. :2 cents:

One after another saying

"Please see the attached file for details."

And stuff like that?

:mad: This is getting way out of hand. As well as getting flooded with a stack of Windows virus ridden attachments directly (which I'm immune to since I read my mail under unix), I'm also seeing a lot of virus bounce errors from one particular mailing list that I am subscribed to. I think it's being used as a source address for a lot of the emails. The biggies like ibm.com must be having a huge problem with their mail services at the moment, handling all of the rejects that served based virus scanners are sending back to them.

(why the fuck does a virus scanner send back an email to the SOURCE address when it's KNOWN that the virus falsifies this field, and the source address is actually completely innocent?!?)

Obviously you dont.
Its not a person sending you mails its the virus it self and "he" is not using different emails, its either spoofed or different computers that are infected.

ya this morning im getting a fuck load.. must be a new virus.. im getting about 1 - 5 per minute

I know, but I thought I was the only one under attack. The e-mails I got all came from the same IP.

This morning everything was still fine. Now I have checked my mail again and have received 1200 emails so far. This is besides all virus emails which are getting deleted by procmail already. I'm getting a new shit mail to my server ever second now I think. This is going out of hand :BangBang:

All mine seem to be coming from 81.0.136.33

I blocked out the IP from the server and havent got one since, and I was getting 20 a minute.

I think that the best solution will be to contact your server admins and ask them to configure thier anti spam system not to approve mails from the server that is sending this spam + virus's.
