Making AVS a waste of time?
 

I am starting to wonder if making AVS is a waste of time seeing the changes brought forward by VISA. Sexcheck closed because of that and other AVS don't seem to react much toward these changes apart from some little politics changes. But really nothing to reassure us, at least in the short term.

What do you guys think?

no it isn't a waste of time at all, you just have to pay attention to who you deal with, and don't follow the submit and forget philosophy. You must promote your site just like you would anything else you wanted to sell.

Exactly! When I started a few years ago I built hundreds of them and if I had to do it over today I would build a handfull and concentrate on driving traffic to them :thumbsup

Its a waiste of time, AVS wont be here much longer, in my opinion with the new rule about the AVS having to own all domains, I cant see how its workable. Any AVS top dogs here Id be interested in what they say

is it me or is there a difference for Visa between free trial AVS and an AVS like Netverifier for exemple?

I may be a newbie (on GFY anyway), but money talks, bullshit walks. Most, if not all of the major players will not even consider a NEW AVS idea.
If XYZ-AVS is billing $50k or more per week, do you think they are going to get the same mail/reply as a start up? Please.

Thats the dumbest advice i have heard for awhile. Mass producing sites so you can leech the link lists and do upsells is the old way and its not going to work well anymore. Only smart way to do avs now is to make one huge premium site (or a very small number) with regular updates and promote the hell out of it. Because
1. Take note of what ac is doing cleaning house, others will follow
2. If avs does go away or change too much you can easily convert one large site to a paysite model.
