I know you guys have webcams. I know you would get a kick out of a cam portal. I've got space/bandwidth and a generic cam portal script. Who wants in? I did one for stile's forum here: http://thisistheshit.com. Let's do this. :)

I coded a web based video chat last month for my members area. It integrates Microsoft Netmeeting 3.1 into a easy to use web page. Anyone who has Windows 95, 98, NT, XP, ME, 2000 etc already has Netmeeting installed. This page also detects if Netmeeting is not installed or is an older version and auto installes / updates if needed. The "Who's Online" section towards the bottom right updates every 60 seconds. This is an I-Frame which calls a PHP script that authenticates users. The PHP calls members information that is stored in a cookie after a user logs in. Member information is stores in a My-SQL database. All members have to do is click on a member to initiate an audio & video chat. All the other Netmeeting features are available like file sharing, whiteboard, text chat, etc.

Nice! A little more involved than I was thinking but shit...it's a nice job man. I guess the next step is to start gathering a list of cams/usernames of interested parties and set up the domain. Maybe Lensman could give us a sticky for a few days to gather the data?

Huh? Most webcam portals are just pages that link hotten the webcam images on everyones site. Why would you need a script do to that? :)
