Do you report spam?
Hey guys,
Just got a spam mail promoting my main sponsor. This shit really hurts our business, and I'm considering reporting the spammer. What do you think? |
what makes you think it's not the program owner themselves doing the mailing
|
pussy
|
when spam gets out of control, fight back...you can reduce it by 1/3 to 1/2
tracert their domain report to host and uplink and go to the sponser site and get contact info there throw in the fcc email to boot [email protected] |
most likely the spamming is getting done with the ok of the sponsor. however, if enough complaints get back to them they will put a stop to it.

man I've gotten all the spam to my main account under control, except from the freeking viagra fuckers... I'm guessing it's all the same guy because they all come in at the same time right around 12-1:00 am est... I wanna shoot that fucker.

I report all spam to spamcop, and if it's spam promoting someone I do business with, I get on the phone with them.
Spam is bad for everyone in the industry who runs a legit business. Yes, you can make a few bucks easier than actually working for it, but it screws everyone else in the industry. The time is coming when many of us will be in front of juries of our peers, and the more pissed off those folks are at porn spam, the harder it's going to be to win any kind of first amendment victory. So, yes, report the spammer. Cheers -b |

Coincidentally, I reported spam for the first time today. I was getting the same spam from the same email address every day for about a week, and I had "unsubscribed" several times. I'm pretty sure this wasn't an opt-in list I had joined, but whatever. Anyway, after unsubbing 3 or 4 times in the past week to no avail, I sent a complaint to their webhost.

Spam didn't build my business. And I'm tired of having to qualify my profession with "...and I'm not one of those crappy spammers" when I tell people what I do for a living.
Regardless of whether spam helped or hindered the industry in the past, the time is coming when we're going to need as much public sympathy as possible. Spammers spend their days and nights working to undermine any goodwill the public has for the rest of the adult industry. And that pisses me off. Buying a CD of 100,000,000 email addresses and using an open relay to spam everyone does not count as working. Or, at least, it's no more "work" than stealing car stereos -- sure, there's some effort involved, but it's fundamentally theft, not work. Ah, I know I'm half preaching to the converted and half pissing in the wind. It's just irritating that anyone could think of spam as a good thing these days. Cheers -b |

While you might not think of spam as a good thing, I'm sure the sites/programs bringing in a couple hundred joins per day aren't going to be complaining anytime soon. While I hate blind spam, it's because it cuts into my margins on my true double opt-in lists. So, it's purely for selfish reasons. Just like I got pissed when everyone started using autosubmitters while I still handsubmitted to TGP's...admittedly, purely selfish reasons. |
Just report the shit if you got the time.. if not delete it...
|
sometimes!!! :winkwink:

id like to kill a spamcop user for fun:glugglug
|
No although it anoys me I never report it
