The pros and cons of FreeBSD vs OpenBSD
 

Anybody use them both and can explain some of the major differences please?

FreeBSD is more suitable for DNS, email, http servers, etc...

OpenBSD is secure as a mofo and great for firewalls and, well, driving users crazy ;)

Ahhh oki... I currently have a FreeBSD box setup as a router/gateway for my network. I've heard someone else mention OBSD would be better for the job because it's slackware?

So now I'm going to setup an OBSD box in front of my FBSD box and use it as a router/gateway and keep the DNS, email, http servers etc on my FBSD box.

FreeBSD is perfectly fine for a router/gateway box. Dont know what "someone else" is smoking, but slackware is a linux distribution, has nothing to do with FreeBSD. (And as far as Linux distributions go, its pretty crappy)

Saying OpenBSD is "secure as a mofo" doesnt mean that FreeBSD is insecure. I've been using it for years and never had a system compromised.
