The income level you mention is not impossible to achieve. What is required is either a source of external financing or bootstrapping. The latter will take a bit longer, but in neither case is it unheard of. One thing you might consider though is the difference between 1k per day from 10 sponsors and 1k per day from 1 sponsor. Do you see that one might be more solid than the other?

1k gross is NOT hard at all but the question is at what cost? What was the ad dollars put in? Bandwith cost? Content cost? When people brag about figures and fly stats on message boards they always present the gross amount made. So may wanna rephrase the question to "who profits 1k/day"? Keep in mind if you spend 1k/day to make 1k/day you actually made $0/day :helpme

This is true. For example, take the gazillion companies on the stock market that had a net loss in any given year. An adult webmaster can honestly boast that they literally made "MORE" money than some of these huge companies...So finding a good balance is cool.
