Metallica Kicks Ass.
I saw them live at giant stadium on the summer sanitarium tour with linkin park, limp bizkit, deftones and mudvayne, and they rock, i just found the pictures from that day, it was great! :)
|
they're sellouts... sucked since And Justice For All...
|
ST anger sucks, but they played alot of there old songs, like i said they kickass! :)
|
that's cool, yeah the old songs kicked ass... but the new ones I just don't get... they don't have the same vibe...
|
Megadeth however, still kicks ass! :)
|

:thumbsup A buddy of me went to a concert recently and told me they only played all the old stuff, they know it themselves. |
when i listen to master of puppets, justice for all, i get a sick feeling in my stomach and wonder 'what the fuck happened to these dudes'
not one song they have released on any CD since justice for all can even compare to the brilliance of that ... i bought the new CD, the only cool thing about it was that it came with a dvd showing them jamming out the new record. But the actual CD itself will become a frisbee or drink coaster. there were some good tunes on the black album, i can understand a band wants to move on and make changes, but as a fan, id rather have the majical kind of shit on puppets and justice, that stuff is just unbelieveable ... Is it bob rock to blame? ahh who gives a shit. they put out a lot of good shit, including garage days, so fuck it ... when it comes to metal, the only band that has impressed me with new releases (yes this is old by now) is pantera with 'reinventing the steel' ... fucking awesome. Mikey |
I wish they would tour my way.
|
If you are a true Jason Newsted fan, check out my pics of him and Ozzy: Jason w/th Ozzy......Jason w/th Voivod
Most of you know me as only a SEO guy. Here is my hobby. Photographer of Rock Stars. Wanna see more celebs I've shot? just ask. I dare ya. |
I would like to see them in concert but I don't think I could sit through Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit.
Too much rap/metal makes me ancy. |

Metallica, like EVERY other band is a business. Business is about making money. Anyone that tells you otherwise is full of shit. If you haven't figured that out, I feel sorry for you. |
They where cool until they went after napster.
|
I was just at this Concert last Sunday. It was bad ass. All the groups kicked ass. Limp Bizkit was the shit! I was able to hang in the front almost the whole show. Metallica played all there old school songs and just rocked!
My favorite part was bribing a security guard to let us sit in the Luxury Box seats. :winkwink: |
their new shit isnt that great compared to the old stuff
|
wow havent seen them in years!
:thumbsup :thumbsup |

It also seems like Metallica lost their soul after Cliff Burton died.
Jason is a pretty good bass player, but once he joined Metallica, he just became a background character. while I think Rob Trujillo is one of the best bass players out there (his work with Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves is amazing) I feel he'll be reduced to a similar role. It shows how much sayso Cliff had in the writing and structuring of their songs, IMHO. Now I'm going to fire up winamp and listen to a little "Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)" |
:throwup :throwup
just my :2 cents: |
Metallica will never be what they were in 1983.
I give them props for giving many years of music to us all to enjoy and grow up to. They will always be remembered as one of the greats regardless. |
Selling out happens to a lot of good bands. You are a different person when you got a Million bucks in the bank. Consequently, you don't write the same types of songs, as you did as a drug addicted pissed off teenager. Metallica made some great music back in the day, and nothing can take that away.
However, They did go after Napster. Why? Do they not have enough money? Are they the record company's Ho? Metallica has got to be the epitome of a sell out. No other band has gone from making such great music, to sucking complete ass. It's really sad, don't ya think? |
Metaliica sucks now. All real metal fans would agree. They have 5 good albums that span from kill em' all to the black album. Everything after the black album is their new "sell to the younger generation alternative shit" and it sucks bad.
:2 cents: |

are you serious? did you listen to that crap that they just put out? i use the cd for a drink coaster
ladies and gentelman please welcome metallica: ______________________:ticking :GFYBand ________________________ :sadcrying :ugone2far |
The new Metallica sucks ass. They had their time - now they're over - End of story.
|
Should the thread title not be - 'Metallica kicks the ass of little kids witn no money who swap music'
|
metallica was indeed badass. "was" being keyword. i hope that possibly, one day in the future, they'll begin working on an album to cater to their massive, bitter, initial fan base.
|
I guess I was too young to apperciate metallica's impact on heavy metal, and although I think some of their old stuff (breadfan, master of puppets, one) is amazing, I still think St. Anger isn't that bad.
If I could make a complaint about St. Anger, it's the lack of solos and drums that are simply too loud. I've seen Lars bullshit his way through a whole bunch of interviews, talking about how metallica is evolving and bla bla bla. I think people are just so in love with the old metallica and the impact that they made with their older albums, that it's harder to embrace new material. Yes, St. Anger isn't revolutionary or impressive in any way, but I still think that a couple of tracks are not that bad. On a side note, when I heard the Toxicity album from System of a Down, I was absolutely blown away. |

Fuck corporate giants, fuck the government, fuck greed. Stick together and help each other because we are the few and the proud. That's what Metallica USED to stand for. Now they're about as heavy metal as Jethro Tull! :Graucho |
Untill your in Metallica's place you can't really call them sell outs in a negative way.
I mean come on.. Would ANY of us be any different? You mean to tell me after you become a rich and famous rock star you're not going to get a bit of "God symplex". Every famous musicion and actor gets the god symplex after making it. It changes your whole attitude and therefore your music etc.. And you can't compare Metallica selling out to selling GFY sigs.. totaly different $$$ base. Who here wouldn't sell there sig to anyone for a few million dollars or in Metallica's case tens of millions? Just for the record I do love old Metallica waaay more than the new stuff. My favorite album is Master of Puppets.. but still I don't blame them for what they've become.... Just my 2 :2 cents: |
