*OPT-IN* E-Mails, what are they worth?
 

Okay, I run a 4free style site. Its not huge but we have about 10,000 members right now.

ALL DOUBLE-OPTIN, ALL 60 DAYS OLD OR LESS.

When they signed up they agreed (via a posted privacy policy) ...
1) To Recieve Ads from me in their e-mail.
2) Their e-mail addresses may be sold or shared with my partners.
3) They agree to recieve E-Mails from my partners, and these e-mails will not be considered 'unsolicited'.

Meaning if I sell these names, whoever buys them can e-mail them all they want, LEGALLY.... how much are they worth?

Any ideas? Offers?

I will NOT sell these to spammers, only legit opt-in webmasters please.

Sell the ad space rather than the list. Do the mailout yourself. It's the only way you can be sure it will not be resold.

Valid point... but i'm pretty happy on the money im making sending them to my own sponsors.

I'd really just like to find 1 legit optin webmaster to sell these too on a monthy basis or something.

Or someone who runs a 4free site, buy my list instead of paying webmasters $1/more per e-mail.

what is the kind of info needed to show that the emails collected are indeed opt-in emails? suppose I do collect opt-in emails, what kind of evidence do I have showing those email addresses were in fact obtained through an opt-in mail campaign? web logs or something? thanks

If you want to keep making money on the list yourself for as long as possible, you're definitely better off to keep the list and charge for mailings. Unless you sell it to someone you absolutely know won't abuse it. :2 cents:
