The George W. Bush Administration does not micromanage the lives of American Citizens. The city council in LA is the one banning lap dances.

like they wanted you to know who is giving the orders

Bigdaddyhgh 08-15-2003 12:26 PM

It is my understanding that they tried to do this in Tampa but there is no way that they can uphold the law. The lapdances continue and all they did was cost a lot of people there jobs and money.
If you come to Tampa hit me up i will by you a dance!

$20 blowjobs ????? thats quite a bargain

You got the hook up Let a brother know

No they do not micromanage the lives of american citizens but they do influence it.

I remember back in the day when Meese and co. were going to get rid of porn.

Porn shops all around the DFW area were shutting down and strip clubs.

I walked into a porn shop that I had been renting from regularly and asked why they were showing nothing but censored videos...man those guys looked like deers caught in a headlight.

Denied ever having hardcore in that shop...lol and they had been there since the 70's.

Anyway, once Reagan and company left office things started to slowly pick back up again.

There were few if any porn shops left.

I moved back to Texas in 93 soon after Clinton took office a new porn shop moved into one of the old ones...they expanded and made that thing huge.

You could get full on hardcore again much to my happiness.

This Thing Is Still out there
They Just Put It On A back burner

This As It Is Written Would Put a 6 Foot Space Between All Customers and Entertainers at All Clubs,And Events In America.

From KNBC TV Story
"The council's three-member Public Safety Committee unanimously approved a draft ordinance June 9 that bans any touching, including tucking cash in G-strings, -- and mandates a 6-foot separation zone between dancers and patrons.

Additional regulations say dancers must perform on a stage at least 18 inches high and has rails at least 30 inches high. Direct tipping would be prohibited, as would the distribution of "sexually oriented merchandise."

Then why isn't it happening more throughout our country? So you are saying
then that the most liberal city in the most liberal county in the most
liberal state is being influenced by the current Administration?

beemk 08-15-2003 02:08 PM

lap dances are a waste of $ anyways.... if i waste any $ in a strip club its going to be on overpriced drinks!

Kimmykim 08-15-2003 02:13 PM

California is such a wacky state.

Tipsy 08-15-2003 02:21 PM

Current result from that poll.....

Should LA Ban Physical Contact Between Entertainers and The Public @ All Clubs & Events ? [724 votes total]

No (666) 92%

Shows you that it really is just the far-too-vocal minority that are anti anything like this. Your average well adjusted person is more than happy to allow it.

Your already in a strip club, you might as well be allowed to have a girl bounce around on you for the price they charge for dances anyway!

That's just a few, I'm sure you could spend all day going through google to find cities and states that have imposed these bans.

But last link is an article about a supreme court decision:

And I love this quote:

Quote:

Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas, in a separate opinion by Scalia, voted to go further. They cited ``the traditional power of government to foster good morals.''
