Making GIF's out of videos, help

What's the easiet way to do it? I want to make one for a tour I'm doing. I once tried to make a signature from the island cottage video, but I failed miserably...

You can load the video file directly into Ulead GIF Animator and save it as a GIF.

I always used jasc animation ... cant remember the name, a product of jasc though

Watch the video, choose the moment you want to save in a .GIF, load the video into Jasc Animator Shop, cut out 4-5 frames and paste them into a new .GIF. Just make sure you don't take out too many frames, because there are lots of pixels that change in a video and the .GIF will have a massive size when you do that.

So basically, it would be recommendable that I first render the video to a proper size? Mine are currently dvd-quality and the animation program doesn't like that.

I think you can make them smaller and lower the quality

Ulead GIF Animator will convert all of the frames of the video file, so yes, shorten it to clips, load, and save.

Not necessarily. You can also cut out the piece you want to convert to .GIF in a different program first. If it's still too big I would recommend downsizing the thing.

Seb.
