Now the party is over and I am back after one hell of a run. WoW... Cuba is the best place I have been to yet in my travels! Wait til ya see these pics.... LOL

Nope, you can go to Cuba, you are just not allowed to spend money there.

Sperbonzo -- I wish we'd been more in the partying mood but sitting around the house by the pool all day made us lazy and lackadaisical... the back was walled in and had a ton of tropical landscaping, so it was like being miles away from anywhere, so relaxing.

Next year we're going to plan it better and really have a party :)

I've been wanting to go for about a year now, and it was my original plan until the foot incident that's kept me in a cast for nearly 5 months this year :(

when I finally have dual citizenship and I get my British passport (I will also have my US), I am going to cuba on it.

You cannot go to cuba direct from US............ Once you get there you can spend as much American dollars as you want. You have to fly to the bahamas and catch a flight from there but if you get caught up it's $5,000.00 fine and possible jail time so if your gonna take the journey that's the back end! I have been to allot of islands and Cuba has the best beaches, bitches, and they don't have drugs floating around like every other island place..... They have some good Havana RUM, I downed at least three bottles thru out the journey..... I spent 4 hours in a cuban holding cell for abusing European tourist... LOL It's funny cuss all Cuban cops are about a buck 20 so by the time they came to arrest me it looked like an army coming up the beach!!! LMAO

If you want to go to cuba with a US passport there are two ways.

1) get permission from the treasury dept, and then you can spend like 10 dollars per day. That includes hotel and food. A hotel will run you 85+ per night, so figure that one out...


2) fly from the US to the bahamas and then fly to Cuba. There is no restriction that way. HOWEVER. If for some reason the Cuban customs stamps your passport, and the US customs sees it, they will tkae the passport from you and you will not get another one for 10 years.


I have been to cuba 3 times and love the place. It is like stepping back in time.

yeah and it's such a poor country, where do you think that money goes? it goes straight into Fidel's pocket as he and his friends own & run all the hotels / resorts. I am curious if you stay in the resort or if you walk round and engage the locals many of whom will beg you for a few cents.
