Dang..I was going to give him some serious consideration,
but if you like him..gotta be something wrong.

Big Monkie 08-14-2003 02:40 PM

Yeah, anyone who theking likes is automatically suspect.
But this guy clark is a real heavyweight, real hero type of background and knows how to handle himself. And unlike most of the current crop of democrats (except dean) he isnt a coward when it comes to standing up and daring to criticize bush or anyone else. Would be interesting to see him debate the draft dodging deserter bush on military and security issues. And would be interesting to see how the right wing will try to smear him.....
But clarks real problem is that few people know anything about him and thats hard to change without a lot of money. And he is running out of time because the early primaries arent that far away now.

theking 08-14-2003 02:42 PM

Send that letter guys and gals.

theking 08-14-2003 07:27 PM

I take it you may like Clark?? :winkwink: On that I gotta agree with you!

He does possess diplomatic skills and has plenty experience. Tis also relevant, least so far, he as avoided all the Beltway party political crap and appears an honorable man.

Who knows, he could be the devil incarnate, but seems he is more capable of doing good for the US than the lying Texas village idiot currently in the Whitehouse...

Hell! I don't even live in the US else I would ! :)

BUT... yep, gotta say it is long overdue for some "qualification" to being President - not a pile of cash, media frenzy and "bodies" as candidates. This has resulted in the biggest farce "leadership" in the western world - something that does nada for anyone.

It might be nice to get the idea that a government is supposed to serve the people, - not just a skin deep propaganda exercise of this, but to do it in practice.

This is an important time for the US, there is a lot of damage to be repaired both at home and abroad - tis past time for playing "politics" - sanity and common sense are more relevant.

Joe Average 08-14-2003 09:16 PM

Holy Shit!

I actually agree with most of what this Wesley Clark guy has to say.

He makes a lot of sense.

I'd like to know his position on drugs, particularly marijuana.

Honeyslut 08-14-2003 11:47 PM

impressive

General Clark is a 1966 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he graduated first in his class. He holds a Master?s Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar.

Honeyslut 08-14-2003 11:58 PM

He is from Little Rock like Clinton. I wonder what his view are

Ironhorse 08-15-2003 12:06 AM

I'm with it, I think this guy is THE BEST HOPE for the US, considering the ongoing war he is way qualified to be commander in chief, his european command gives him a diplomatic edge in foreign policy, he strikes me as a stand up guy that cares about his country, constitutional integrity and even is strong on environment protection as well as a more comprehensive heath care system.

I hope he runs, I hope he makes it, I've always liked this guy and I've seen him in many news shows.

from what i've seen Clark is all intelligence and class, with a streak of humanity.

i don't care what party he's on. he's one of very few people that impress me.

Big Monkie 08-15-2003 11:59 AM

Yep, this guy is a real heavyweight. Very impressive.
And he acts and looks the part too. I personally think bush is a lying hypocritical scumbag, but clark talks about him in a very reserved diplomatic tone, doesnt go off half cocked yet you still know where he stands. Very presidential. Like i said, will be very interesting to see how the conservatives try to smear this guy, because you know they would.

theking 08-15-2003 04:43 PM

I sent it and I am currently signed up as Republican

I never voted for Bush the first time......

jas1552 08-15-2003 10:09 PM

After reading his position on the issues, he sounds like a standard liberal to me. Nothing special. Loves taxes and fruits. Supports government sponsored racial discrimination. In favor of abortion. Against the patriot act. Seems to support an open border. Except for the title of General, I don't see anything that would really distinguish him from all the other democrats.

If he were to run...I think that he would come to the forefront and gain the nomination...and would have a better chance of winning against Bush. The current Democrats that are running...unless the economy gets worse...or something else unforseen happens to hurt Bush's popularity...I do not think can win the election.

theking 08-16-2003 09:58 AM

Draft General Clark.
