I'm sacrificing my body for science
In the past I've questioned the Atkins diet on this board, and made fun of a few of its devotees. Now, to be fair, I'm gonna try it for a month.
Its steak, eggs, cheese, salmon, and chicken for 30 days. Anyone got any tips they'd like to share? Right now because of a few months of inactivity (and wine drinking + carb binging) due to a tendon overuse injury I weigh in at 215. My running weight is 170. Lets see how much I can drop in 30 days on Atkins. |
Get plenty of mouth freshener, it makes your breath stink

I tried it a short time ago. It does make you lose weight... however, in my case, it nearly made me pass out several times, made me nauseous, gave me headaches, took away all my energy...
Bad stuff, in my opinion. |

I've lost 25 pounds on what many people would probably consider old school principles. I count calories and workout everyday for 20 minutes. Approximately keeping track of calories will quickly stir you clear of some bad eating habits. I've learned that the 20 oz. soda I used to grab from the store has a 250 calories for example. Sugar is pretty evil in this regard. I drink a lot of Diet Dr. Depper now. 0 calories. Counting calories also gets you on track for proper portions. A snack is fine. A whole back of Doritos is not.
