Are you a culinarist?

I am. I'm always willing to try new foods, and usually I like them. (as you can probably tell from my pictures). I LOVE to eat well, not necessarily a lot, but well. If I was a filthy rich bitch, I'd hire my own cook.

Anyways, I live with a girl who is not. She is NEVER willing to try anything else, if I'd let her she'd eat meatballs and spagghetti every day. When I get her to try some new foods at a restaurant, she usually lefts her plate half eaten and tells me how bad it was.
I've been trying to get her to go to a cooking school, but even if she goes, I'm curious if her fear of new foods would change into experimenting when she learns more. hehe.. nothing like a girl who could cook
:)

Do you want to adopt me? I'm almost housebroken.

Gutterboy 08-13-2003 02:40 AM

I'm a mega foodie.

My last girlfriend was too. Great match. We'd do two different SF restaurants nearly every weekend. Spent a fuckload of money and gained about 30lbs.. but had a great time.

I eat when necessary. Usually once every other day. Doesn't matter what it is.... whatever takes the least amount of time.

Sadly enough, that's also what I usually have time for.. but I would PREFER a good meal.
Although my nuker got busted, and I actually have to make food now. (or order a pizza).

bah.... food is fuel. Nothing more. Eating is a necessary evil no different than having to take time to stop and fill up a gas tank. Do it quick, get it over with, and get back on the road. There's no sense wasting time with all the rest of the foofoo and ceremony and dance that goes with it.

Just like sex. Empty your balls when you have to and get over with it?

Yes but since you have to do this pesky repetitive task all the time, why not enjoy it? I look at food in the morning as a chore, but come dinner time I usually start drooling.

I am also a good cook, but lately I haven't had time to cook at all.

it's true, I enjoy what I do eat. When I eat, (approx once every other day), it's usually something good like barbequed steak, chicken, or fish.... but only because I don't cook it. If it were left to me, I'd nuke a frozen burrito, be through eating in about 2 minutes, and be done with the eating process.

Luckily, I have a girl that can grill like mad. But most of the time, unless I'm ravenous, I'll opt to just not eat.

Amputate Your Head 08-13-2003 03:07 AM

yesterday I had a bowl of soup. Today I had nothing. Tomorrow we'll eat from the grill again.

i love food and i like to buy cookbooks... what i like better is someone else to eat my food and to tell me how great it tastes.

some woman just dont like to cook... i could adopt you.. you have to foot your own grocery bill..:1orglaugh

Sarah_Jayne 08-13-2003 03:19 AM

totally a foodie. I love trying new things. My parents always raised us with the attitude that we should eat local food when we travelled and that we never know if we are going to like something until we tried it. Cooking is fun too and an insite into cultures. Like you said, it isn't about eating tons of one thing but about broadening your horizons.

Carrie 08-13-2003 04:01 AM

Amp if you keep going like that, you're going to throw your body into starvation mode and it will start storing every molecule of fat that it can. You know how heavy people always say that they don't eat and can't understand why they're not losing weight?
That's why.
Their body doesn't know when it will get food again so it goes into starvation mode and saves everything.

It's like the world's quickest way to get fat... eat infrequently. Weird, but true.
