Grouse means good.

BlueDesignStudios 08-12-2003 10:24 PM

Yeah grouse is a compliment - I don't hear it much, it's definitely slang

kad 08-12-2003 10:46 PM

Its Melbourne / Sydney speak :)

It means really good. 'You have a grouse car' or 'You mum is a grouse root'.

The Other Steve 08-12-2003 10:55 PM

Don't think it is restricted to just Sydney and Melbourne - more likely it is falling out of favour in other places.

Like 'cobber' - that word was once popular everywhere but now usually only heard in Tasmania

Not used much any more, used to be a 60's 70's and 80's expression, as per the above reply's

Spooky

When I was in school, we moved from Melbourne to Adelaide. I was saying grouse this and grouse that out of habbit. I copped a lot of shit from other losers about it.

Adelaide is a weird town. I love it, but fuck its weird :(
