ZoneAlarm still the best?
Been fucked all over the place by trojans and things......
Is ZoneAlarm still the best personal firewall for a dsl conection? This has wasted a whole day! :helpme |
Pay a few bucks and get Black ice..works great for me
|
I use Sygate Personal Firewall after having too many problems with ZA's vector crashing all the time..
It's great, and keeps me in stealth mode all the time and very customizable |

Get a hardware firewall. |
i also use Sygate and a router and that keeps me sort of safe i guess.

Amp is correct. |
script kiddies that distribute SubSeven and other zombie trojans to build their dos armies love Black Ice.... lol
|
I run both a hardware and software firewall. Linksys router with hardware firewall and Zone Alarm Pro for software:thumbsup

I'd stay away from zone alarm because of that vector problem that crashes the computer. I tried every possible fix that I saw reccomended and couldnt fix it. Finnaly had to just cut my losses and get rid of it.

Fuck! |
I use only Linksys hardware configured for DHCP that rotates my actual IP twice daily.... seems to be plenty.
I stopped using software firewalls a few years ago. Running both is overkill and interferes too much with normal operations. |
My current solution for home is the using a FreeBsd server for connection sharing with it's ipnat firewall..
Works great so far..:thumbsup |

I'd have to agree with amp, but would add to it by recommending both the hardware and software firewall setup... :thumbsup :thumbsup |
Black Ice detects what's going on, but doesn't do shit to stop it. :1orglaugh
