who uses a canon eos 10d to shoot?

Which place are you talking about? Keep in mind that most mail-order camera stores are major-league rip-off artists. The worst offenders are Cambridge, Broadway Photo, and A&M Photo (where you will get an A2M from these scumbags). The optional packages you've mentioned are probably crap anyways...

Haven't used/demo'd that cam yet, but have heard decent things about it...
We shoot with a Fuji S1 Pro, which is a decent cam, but one of the "first generation" high end digital cams. Needless to say, it's had it's share of "issues" and been in the shop a few times. I've got a friend who shoots with an S2 and has had good success with it, so take it for what that's worth...
