but an idea that would work is charging for sigs .......... OR.... charging for sigs that go beyond what is now allowed. so if somebody wanted the right to use their sig space in the way paying advertisers are allowed to they'd have to pay a hundred bucks a month or something for that special privilege.

I agree. I pay for lots of services and special guests only type forums, but I wouldn't pay to access this one unless it changed its focus drastically.
