Pay for Download system
So, I developed a site for a customer of mine, we called it downloadcredits.com .. He ended up not using it due to severe flakiness..
It's a pretty good system.. The only thing left for me to do is write in a billing system other than paypal (we had finished it, working with IPN, when paypal stopped dealing with adult sites) .. It's pretty good.. The idea is we (or if you juts buy the software, YOU) host your videos, and when people want to download a video, you set a price for how many credits each video (or video segment is worth) and end users just buy credits, and use them to pay for and then download your movies.. I built a full administration system, including a VB app for the webmaster to upload his/her movies into the system.. I'm just trying to gauge interest in this, see if any other webmasters might find it useful enough for me to put the last 20 or so hours worth of work into it I'd need to in order to complete it. Figures, that's what laziness does for me.. I built this almost a year ago.. Who's the competition? |
i've seen sites set up like this years ago. doesn't matter if a product already exists, it's who markets it better.
what system are u talking about Project-Shadow? post a URL. thanks |
*I* would finish it if *I* were you.

if (my_time / my_hourly rate > potential_gains) { finish_program; } else { scrap_program; } Now when I consider my standard consulting rate is $125/hour and I can expect to spend another 20 hours coding the site and at least 100 hours marketing it until I see some sort of a good return .. then theoretically that's another $15k investment on top of the time I've already put into it .. |
