I need a real job...

My health insurance is almost $12k a year. There has got to be a better way of going about this... almost makes me want to promote ARS to get theirs :).

What do you guys do for insurance?

johnny1 08-11-2003 07:10 AM

move to canada..hehe

Gutterboy 08-11-2003 07:13 AM

1k a month? Damn. What sort of insurance do you have? Even the most expensive HMO coverage would only cost me $200/mo or so.

I had actually considered it at one point, but never really looked into it. How difficult is it? I imagine it could kind of be a bitch emmigrating to a country with no real "job," but a ton of money. Red flag?

If your US, you can get self employed insurance and belong to that group, you can do a search for this organization.

Im a vet, so I use your tax paying dollars, thank you very much!

I'm young and in college. Through the school it is less money but the coverage sucks. And I am "independant" because of my income, which is why I am uncovered by my parent's plans.

You're telling me you have never had any trouble explaining to anyone what exactly your source of income is? Some people just don't get it. I get harassed by the bank manager every time I go in.

Dude, thats fucking madness. I'm single, independent, almost 30, and my premiums are nowhere near 1k/mo. Health insurance for the single man ain't cheap, but you can get it for a hell of alot less than 1k/mo.

getting harassed by the bank manager? all you have to do is show your checks and laugh at this person. lets see, employed for yourself and make as much money as you put into your work OR work for someone else and worry about them laying you off, firing you, cutting pay....hmmm i think you are the one who should be laughing and harassing them. you arent a slave to someone else like your bm is and you should state that. then you should tell this person that you have the ability to have them fired if they want to continue to act in an unprofessional manner. oh the power...lol

now as far as insurance goes, i am not sure who you are going thru but the most i have ever seen for independent coverage (medical, dental, eye....) is 5k a year. i think you are getting seriously taken. are you using acacia's health insurance company cause they may be double dipping you :)

If you're havin' problems with health insurance you might wanna try a discount service. I sell this one which is pretty good and you can resell as well.

you said it cassie, you don't have to tell ppl you work in porn. just tell em you run your own web design business or something. when i was first doing this they didn't want to give me a credit card because they saw me as 'high risk'. young, no real job history, yet i made 60,000 that year. after they saw me constantly cashing in amounts that were so high they had to get the bank manager to ok it, they had a different opinion and were very curious about how i made my money.
