Fucked up conversion ratio's
 

My site for the past 6 months converts at around 1/450 on average, and I can understand weird ratio's from day to day, but my site can go 1 whole week converting at 1/1500 and then the next week converting at 1/100

My traffic is always consistent, and can't understand how these sorts of figures can happen. Surely there should be some semblence of consistancy from week to week??

Do other paysite owners see the same sorts of ratios?

Do you mean the pics on the free hosted galleries? If so they are meant to be around 25 to 35 kb's that is what most tgp makers compress their pics to, so as to save on bandwidth.

why are you using Verotel ??

My site converts at 1/450 from mainly tgp and free site traffic, so Verotel is doing its job. I used to use CCbill and due to their very tight scrub rate my site only converted at 1/700 so I have nothing but praise for Verotel.

My main problem and querie was to inconsistant nature of the signups ( the dry periods were worse with CCbill)

Ya bullshit indeed. Convertion ratios have nothing to do with the summer.

If you would say "im getting 1000 visitors a day less than last month" i would agree, people like to go outside in the summer and not spend too much time on the net but blaming 1:2000 ratios on the summer doesnt make sense. Its not like people wank off less in the summer.

Niether is relevant, summer may cause a drop in numbers but it would not affect C/R, and as I said above CCbill had more severe dry spells for me than Verotel so I think you can drop the Verotel angle.

On what sort of traffic level (daily/weekly) do you measure your ratios? If it's like 1000 uniques/day error margin can be quite high if you calculate daily and even weekly ratios.

Yes it is around 1000 uniques per day. But remember the 1/450 I am talking is uniques to the main page so for tgp and free site traffic it is converting well, but it is just the strange extended periods of 1/100 and then 1/1500 or whatever. You would think it would be reasonably consistant.

summer is a factor.

and right now (this past week) most of europe is in
a record high heat wave.

and much of europe is not air conditioned like USA.

and when people are hot and sweaty they do not sit in
little rooms next to computer screens.

and they are not so randy.

and it does affect signups.

weather matters.

I've noticed conversions get a little worse lately.

It could be a number of things.
