Anyone do real estate?
 

does anyone have a realtor license? i'm thinking about getting one. is it hard? my dad buys a new house at least once a month so im thinking i will make some decent money just off that. i dont really want it for a career though.

dont get a liscence...just buy properties and sell em..rent em out..etc..real estate brokers are dirtbags...i get one at my house a couple times a week bothering me...they do nothing and make 6%.
So on a million dollar house they make 60K for making a phone call and having a nice haircut....just buy good deals and rent them out and sell em...ridiculous money..i've been doing it for a while and really doing well...i dont know about the rest of the country but here in Cal it's up 20% a year for a while now..so if you have at leat a mill in properties it's an extra 200k a year in paper profit

the actual realtor makes 3% i think. my dad does the same shit that you do, but if i was his realtor i would be the person getting the 3%. so if he spends a million in a year i would get $30k just from him.... get what im saying? if you had a license you could be the person getting the 3% of the houses you buy, and you could show yourself the house instead of having to meet with the realtor.

You're kidding right? You think properties just sell by themselves without advertising, marketing, and buyer prospecting?

Realtors are dirtbags? Hell, I'll hand someone $60,000 to bring me a solid $ 1 Million buyer any day of the week.

I don't do real estate myself, but I do know the broker makes 3%, not 6%. 3% goes to the broker, and the other 3% goes to broker's employer. I was talking to a manager at a local real estate dealership about it a few weeks ago.

Anyways, a real estate license only takes like a month to get. My suggestion is to get (regardless if you need it).

around here you have to take 6 classes to get a broker's license, or 2 classes (for the sales license) and 2yrs exp. about $1500 for the classes, plus a $215 license/testing fee...
