question about dialers
 

isnt that a better and easiest way of charging customers? why it isnt the most popular choice?

I don't want to seem like I'm spamming (perish the thought at birth) but I happen to think that dialers are cool.....they're as anonymous as you could wish for....ok so SOMETHING appears on your (their) phone bill.....but it doesn't say what...but hey! they've a way of paying for what they want to see.

Some dialers will download their sneaky software to dial up once the customer is asleep blah blah. Sadly true. However, some don't. And we're not the only ones around who are ethical, however, we are at the forefront.....

Dialers could work in theory, but in practice have failed me. The reason is the cost - a guy can signup at my site for $24.95 and get a whole month by cc or check.

If he is in the U.K for example the dialer companies charge like $1.00 a mnute or more, so only the truly stupid need apply.

In a whole year of offering dialer as an option, I think I made $12.00.

In fairness though, this was for a movie site, and one appealing to more sophisticated surfers. My customers would rather wire me the money than pay $60.00 per hour.

For a low-res low-end pictures only pay site, maybe it works.
