Stupid Question

I'm running XP and my HD is partitioned into C: and D: I have files on both partitions. C: is full, but D: has plenty of space. Is there a way to reallocate say 5 gigs from D: to C: without the risk of loosing files from either partition?

Any help would be great! (except format C:)

yes when you click "my computer are both drives viewable?

If you just do the copy paste thing. If not then burn onto a cd and transfer it that way

Yes software like Partition Magic can do that for you.

Hey Juicy - I'm not wanting to actually move any files. I want to take 5 gigs of free space from D: and reallocate that free drive space on C:

Anyone?

Doesn't XP have a utility to accomplish this?

Juicy D. Links 08-08-2003 07:46 AM

Hmm after thinking about it you might have to resize the partitions or something like that but honestly i am clueless but it might cause some data loss if you arent 100 percent sure of what to do.
