number one.... 1st and 2nd ammendment.... how can you be for one but not the other.... guns don't kill people ..... people kill people....... I carry a gun ... I also havea CCW... in 22 states.... so pretty much I always carry... everywhere..... but if I wanted to..... I could kill you by bludgening you with a big fucking rock... might be a little messier but gets the job done.... so to say why do we have guns... thast the most insane statement I have heard.....

The first amendment is very clear, the second amendment has to be interpreted in a certain way for it to guarantee individuals (not militias) the right to own guns.

I think a better question is how can so many right wingers who are willing to interpret the second amendment to say that individuals have an absolute right to own a gun also believe that porn should be illegal?

Personally, I support free speech and gun ownership, but I come to GFY to argue. :)

Whether you agree or disagree with gun ownership, I think the reality is that guns aren't going away in America even if they were made illegal.

A better question to focus on is why so many people are able to bring themselves to murder someone else. Murder rates are very high in the US, and it takes a certain mentality to kill someone.

People keep dwelling on guns as the problem, but even if guns didn't exist, people would still kill eachother in America. I think there should be more focus on society, psychology, and environment as the causes of the high murder rates.

Even to this day a militia called up in most of the World, it is expected to outfit themselves however possible. We live in a highly populated area and could probably put 500k men up pretty quick (from 16-60) and I know for a fact that the several armories in the area are no where near large enough to house that many weapons...

Someone already said it tho several times, you can make them illegal but that wouldn't cut down killing very much if at all. When we were teenagers, the teachers would take two guys to the gym and put gloves on them. (I disapproved of it then but hey female preogative eh?) But when properly shamed one way or the other either by the teacher and kids or by losing, the two generally made up and all was forgotten by weeks end. :)

People just have to go that one step further anymore, just like some do in this business.
