Buying a TV Tuner...
I've been wanting to get a TV Tuner for my computer. Record some shows, watch some shows while working, whatever. So a couple weeks ago I was at Best Buy and picked one up. It's called "TV Wonder VE". Does anyone have this? Is it any good? I still haven't installed it. I'm running Windows 98, will this run fine with Windows 98?
Thanks in advance. |
TV Wonder VE sucks ass... pain in the ass to get working.. but should be ok in win98...
If your due for a video card upgrade go for the Ati all in wonder |
You might want to at least move up to Windows ME.
I use a Win TV card with a built in FM Stereo. These tuners they make for PC's are pretty good, but the radio gets crappy reception. Sometimes you get interfence on the TV's also. It also can be a bit distracting. |

why use a computer to do what a tv does?

This must work on Windows 98. I have some crucial software that doesn't work right on anything above 98. |
Hmm, good enough.

leadtek winfast deluxe. the ati all-in-wonder cards are kindof a waste, you spend a shitload of extra money for the tuner, and when you upgrade, you have to spend another shitload or lose the video.
the deluxe 2000 is like $50, a pci card. it gets awesome reviews, from what i hear it's the best out there (way better than ati's standalone cared). plus, you don't have to have it depend on what your video card is, and you can swap vid cards without worrying about the video. has an fm tuner built in as well... |
ATI TV Wonder's SOFTWARE is shit. Don't even bother using their program.
I use WIN DVR 2 to watch TV. Works great and the picture is always clear (I use Windows XP Pro). |
Ok, so I'm taking this one back. What should I buy? You guys are giving me good suggestions, but where can I find out more information about them? Any links?

there is a euro card for catch satellite signals, and here in Canada and US, you can use it to decode bell, and dishnetwork, and some FTA channels, looks cool
