A new Einstein?

A 27 year old amateur mathematician and broadcasting school tutor has published a groundbreaking paper on the nature of time.

--------

"A bold paper which has highly impressed some of the world's top physicists and been published in the August issue of Foundations of Physics Letters, seems set to change the way we think about the nature of time and its relationship to motion and classical and quantum mechanics. Much to the science world's astonishment, the work also appears to provide solutions to Zeno of Elea's famous motion paradoxes, almost 2500 years after they were originally conceived by the ancient Greek philosopher. In doing so, its unlikely author, who originally attended university for just 6 months, is drawing comparisons to Albert Einstein and beginning to field enquiries from some of the world's leading science media. This is contrast to being s******ed at by local physicists when he originally approached them with the work, and once aware it had been accepted for publication, one informing the journal of the author's lack of formal qualification in an attempt to have them reject it."

Very interesting article. The stuff about the solution to Zeno's motion paradoxes is fascinating.

I'm too fucked up to comprehend it.

Please, George W Bush, give me a readers digest!

Only infidels doubt that!

This is why super athletes can keep breaking records and pro baseball players can hit 100 mph pitches. Subconsciously they have the ability to change "their" pace of time. To them the ball slows down just enough to hit and to us it seems unchanged.

I have thought that for some time but I am just a dumb fuck.

Good article.

A little Zeno's paradox humor...

A Professor has three of his best students line up at one end of the longest hallway of the university. One is a math major, one is a physics major, and the third is an engineering major. At the other end of the hallway is a very cute coed.

The Professor says, ?Boys, every time I ring this bell, you may move half way to the girl." The Professor rings the bell.

The math student shakes his head, turns and walks away. He knows that no matter how many times the Professor rings the bell, he will never reach his prize.

The physics student looks down at his shoes, sighs, and wonders off. He knows too,
that he would never reach the girl.

The engineering student takes off running down the hall towards the coed. He stops half way and listens for the bell. He knows that after enough bell ringing that he will be close enough for all practical purposes.

hehehehe.

Gutterboy is my hero - you should run for Prime Minister of Denmark.
Oldest flag. Oldest national anthem. Oldest monarchy.

We have the most righ-wing rule in Europe, and it is needed.
The results are showing. I'm itching to show national immigrant influx compared to Sweden after right-wing elecion... :)

We want no parasits.

Just in time for another great discovery. The world is in dire need of a galaxy busting detonation device you can send through time at relative speed.

Thank you. Although I say it myself, I think I would make a good benevolent autocrat.

When are the next elections?

tis true :thumbsup
teh concept is fu*king amazing, just ponder on its implications for a while and you will realize just how BIG this is, two months ago he was a nobody and today his name is on the lips of some of greatest minds in the world.

Even if he is wrong its only a matter of another month or so before mainstream press start talking about it (just like cold fusion) and there will be millions of people looking for info :)

For example?

His idea has been studied by some extremely clever people and they seem to think there is a great deal of truth in what he says, he may not be a true genius and instead of making a huge discovery he may well have uncovered one of the biggest theoretical physicists and philosophers blunders that's baffled mankind for thousands of years.

Zeno may well be the first documented human to make this mistake but cultures worldwide have drawn the same conclusion that matter cannot travel through three dimensional space (but it does) and yet for thousands of years they have clung to the same calculations even though the know they cannot be right.
Time will tell :)
