CECash suing Acacia?

CECash Files For Injunction Against Acacia

LOS ANGELES - An industry source says Trade News Corporation, which operates adult Webmaster affiliate program CECash, filed August 1 for a preliminary injunction and an action for arbitration against Acacia Media Technologies.

"The judge granted an order for Acacia to show cause why a preliminary injunction should not be issued," the source told AVNN

and the plot thickens...

It's nice to see that our industry isn't just on the receiving end of the litigation here.

Either CE is pissed that Acacia used their name in the letters they sent out, or the pressure of the situation as a whole is getting to them. Looks like damage control to me either way.

Regardless of why they're doing it, it is nice to see an adult company going on the offensive against Acacia.

Spunky 08-01-2003 07:42 PM

CE shows they have balls..Go CE! :glugglug

BradShaw 08-01-2003 07:43 PM

Not sure an injunction is going on the offensive......time will tell. Sounds like they are simply trying to get a court to tell Acacia not to use CE's name.

Ron is smart. As hard of a time as I give him, I put him in my 1%.

High Quality 08-01-2003 07:44 PM

CE already bent ovre and took the dick in the poop shoot, so its gotta be like using their name in the letters Acacia sent out. No doubt.

:2 cents:

cash69 08-01-2003 07:44 PM

that's good.. but notice how they don't even say what acacia is.. anyone reading that wouldn't know anything that means.. they need to explain what acacia is and what they are claiming.. so people start to see how much of a joke they are

Tornado 08-01-2003 07:48 PM

Yeah i am not sure that article really revealed anything.

Gemini 08-01-2003 07:48 PM

Didn't someone mentipont being threatened with a CA from ACTG? Could be they are using agreements to use other company names for that.

Theo 08-01-2003 07:49 PM

it can only be good for the industry no matter what's the whole deal behind it.

mrmovie 08-01-2003 08:39 PM

It is about time. Go CE

tootie 08-01-2003 09:08 PM

Yeah, I'm sure alot of it has to do with the fact that so many webmasters got REALLY pissed and threatened to boycott them because they settled with Acacia. Sounds like damage control to me.

I like to see them do this, though, whatever the reasons behind it. Anything that's done to smack Acacia in the face makes me happy. :)

OzKaNoz 08-01-2003 09:38 PM

good, it's about time!

why to boycott them? What cecash does is to take business decisions that will protect their interests. You can't request revolution with someone's else boat. Cecash is at the moment one of the highest performance sponsors and i'm looking forward to send them many times more signups from the next month.

Webby 08-01-2003 10:54 PM

It could be a revealing exploratory hearing.....

BRISK 08-01-2003 11:33 PM

As long as it costs Acacia more money in lawyers fees I'm happy.

Strife 08-01-2003 11:44 PM

The owners of Trade News Corp/CECash know what they're doing.

In a war you have to pick a side. You cant supply weapons to the enemy and then pledge alliance to the home country.
