dvd to avi anyone know
 

Hey I ripped from the dvd with smart ripper, now I have a program that coverts dvd to avi but it sucks its choppy and really really bad. Anyone know of a good program that will convert dvd to avi Thank you

Use a freeware program called DVDx.

The standard is Virtual Dub. It is very slick, but a bit more complicated. Dr. DivX (obvious bias here) is very simple. There is a free trial, so you can try that too.

VirtualDub does not load DVD files.

As for Virtual Dub, go to Doom9.org. They have guides, do it a few times with avisynth and dvd2avi and you will be on the way. We encode hundreds of DVD's a day and always use virtual dub.
