Run to the store and grab yourself some good liquor

or the cheaper way, guzzle a 40oz of magnum

MiLo 07-31-2003 02:04 AM

cocaine.

Sorry to hear that, I have had a toothache prob myself for the past week. I get two of my wisdom teeth yanked out in a week. Yay me.

Anyway... since it's late where you are I guess your options are pretty limited. Do you have any oil of cloves? Tastes like shit but it's supposed to be a good natural anaesthetic. Mouthwash may also help, but the really good stuff is Cepacaine, which is an anaesthetic and antiseptic mouthwash. Surely there must be other pharmacies around?

I don't have any oil of cloves unfortunately. That stuff works kickass. Everything shuts down here at night. Only thing open is the grocerie store down the road that has a pharmacy. The same pharmacy making my life hell.

call your dentist

toothache is the worst :(

Got any pain killers lying around? Panadol didn't do much for me, so I had to resort to some Panadeine Forte I had left over from surgery last year. Even that didn't always work though, you really need something to numb it directly rather than tell your brain it's not hurting...

tootie 07-31-2003 02:32 AM

Clove oil is definately best.

But if you have any raw garlic, chew it. Your breath will smell like hell but garlic is a very powerful antiseptic and it is also a natural painkiller. Just bite down on the garlic at the spot where the pain is.

You can also crush an asprin into a fine powder and rub it right on the spot that hurts. Tastes bad, but it helps some.

You do have plans to go to the Denstist, Yes? Temp pain relieve does not resolve those issues causing the problems.

The writing is on the check.

I bought some stuff in the US last year in the hotel store I think, some liquid shit that made my whole mouth go numb.
Worked though..

Anytime in your life you are sick or in pain remember these two things. They fix everything.

slackologist 07-31-2003 09:10 AM

difflam-c (numbs up your mouth)

iwantchixx 07-31-2003 09:36 AM

The two ibuprophin's did the trick surprisingly.
I do plan to get to the dentist to get this shit fixed. I just keep putting it off for 3 years now. I have no use for not being able to smoke for 4 days. Not able to eat solid foods for 4 days and having stank ass bloody pussy breath for a week. My gf had her molars removed and it was not a pretty sight. But I guess I have to get it done considering my right upper molar has the top and rear and outter portion of the crown MISSING.

best thing to use is nutmeg oil. If you dont have that take some nutmeg powder and put it in the hole. It will kill the nervers. So the pain is gone in seconds. Dentists used to use that method.

gothweb 07-31-2003 09:42 AM

If the ache is in the tooth, rather than in the gums, just about the only things that will help you are powerful anelgesics or the kinds of general painkillers that you can't get legally without a prescription. Anything you rub on isn't going to get to the root of the pain.

DeadFidel 07-31-2003 10:02 AM

Simple.........

Put a cheap aspirin up against the gum on the outside edge of where the tooth is and it will numb it as well as eventually work on the headache. ;-) I don't know if ibu's will work on it but aspirin will (even baby aspirins) that way its absorbed right at the point of the pain and not have to work thru your body. And as the pain starts back up you can do it again. (white bread in the tummy helps absorb the nastiness and remember, DROOL rags! lol

Something else that works are these little bags ... they sell under the name of 'polaris bags' around here. Drug stores usually have them. They have been around for years but few people use them or even know of them anymore. Non-narcotic etc so they should be out for sale at any time of the night if the store is open.

The hubby had a second set of wisdom teeth come in when he was in high school and he used those to get thru the pain that they caused. ;-) I can only imagine how much that hurt since my one set ached and they came in one at a time. lol To have 4 of them... I'd have considered a rope. We grew up in the prehistoric times where all those pain killers were non-existant or really controlled.

If the ache continues, you need antibiotics so a doctor is imperitive.

don't go to sleep?

Gemini 07-31-2003 10:48 AM

Try a second or even third pillow Frank. ;-) When you lay down all your blood pressure tends to even out... Raise your head and keep the blood pressure down and in the main part of your body. I have the same thing going on in this broken leg so it goes UP when I lay down. :1orglaugh
