Good plan to get Microsoft involved in this Acacia shit:

I got this idea from somebody else in another thread...

Spam a chain letter that says "Just a friendly warning if you have a website -- it is HIGHLY recommended that you remove ALL .WMV files from your websites as there is a company (link news resource) that owns the patent to (video distribution technology?)... You might be safe if you switch back to MPEG because this technology pre-dates the patent (show the patent #)... otherwise you might have to pay $1500 blah blah... You should forward this to your friends because these sites have been shutdown already (then possibly have some decoy sites that were "shut down")...

Panic will ensue and Microsoft will have to defend the rumors...

It's not really a simple idea tho -- seems like it would take a lot of careful planning... Some questions... a) do you want the chain letter to be associated with adult b) do you try to make money with the chain letter by using decoy sites that have banners c) do you mention Acacia and open yourself to a lawsuit... d) blah blah blah...

It might be better if Lawrence Conner's pic is in the chain letter... then have a pic of a van and say "this is where Lawrence Conner lives now because of Acacia" :( :( :(

Doesn't seem like a bad idea. Best part is, its all true, not like most chain letters.
Of course, another result I can see, is that Microsoft could just end up buying Acacia out...that would be bad times for everyone.

i was telling a buddy about this whole mess and he had a good point. MS has lawyers already with a response to this and will blow Acacia out of the water. So thats why Acacia is going after others and not the big guys with lawyers.

Imagine if after they have done shit to people they lose to MS therefore we can all then sue Acacia because they were wrong

Pretty funny stuff
