What an amazing feat.. what incredible adversity this guy has gone through to come back and DOMINATE.

Wilbo 07-27-2003 10:29 AM

He said he'll definitely be back next year to go for number 6. Good luck Lance!!!

Nope, they actually like and respect hiim for his hard work :)

It was the best Tour I've seen during the years. Great fights in the mountains.
I'm glad to see we still have Tyler Hamilton on our danish Team CSC.

Not to mention it spread to his brain also and he lost a testical. I wonder if it hurts him sitting on that little saddle more than it does the other riders.

Mike AI 07-27-2003 11:58 AM

Lance is the man!!

Where are all the USA haters who were posting that Lance was going to lose to the German? HAHAHA

5 in a row baby!!!!

Mojo Rizin 07-27-2003 12:28 PM

As much as I admire and respect Armstrong.. I got to give big props to anyone who even competes in this race.

A 5 mile bike ride for me is considered a Tour de France.

Thats a load of shit. Those French Assholes all accuse him of using performance enhancing drugs like epo. You don't remember when all that came out. The french hate yanks. Lance is the man.

Wrong on both counts.

First, a USPS staff member was photographed dumping syringes in an unmarked car, so they are not entirely blameless. "those french assholes" consist of a couple of morons who shouted "doper" at him during one of last years mountain stages.

Second, most of the French fans like Lance. The criticism in past years has mostly centered around his aloof attitude with regards to the French press, not drugs.

This year he was given an award (a basket of oranges) for being the most accessible rider to the press.

I used to race triathlons a few cheeseburgers ago, and have been riding as of late. I just did Tioga Pass in the Seirras near Yosemite (70 grueling miles) and I'm ready for more! Lance has been a great inspiration to me because his book came out right when my Mom was losing a battle with Cancer and I was struggling with a weight problem. To think that he went through all of the Chemotherapy & operations and won the greatest bike race on the planet 5 years in a row inspires me to loose my 30 pounds and to be healthy again. Rock on Lance!:thumbsup

I cross Tioga pass all the time, but I'm usually on the Yosemite hikers bus rather than my bike.

Some of the best backpacking in the world up there. Do Mt. Dana sometime.. killer views.

i think you are mistaking frenchs never accused Lance to use EPO

the most targetted and accused guy was french, Richard Virenque, who was actually found positive, Lance has been suspected as did all the guys in the race, just a few had problems.

please stop thinking that french hate americans as much as americans hate frenchs:321GFY

Oh ... yeah... I wanna hike there this week - e-mail me about Mt Dana, I dunno where that is. I'm thinking about driving there right now. God's country - they call it.

Lance is a true champion :thumbsup

Lots of respect for the guy :thumbsup

JFK 07-27-2003 02:32 PM

Way To Go !!!!!!!!!!! To rise above and beyond .......... a mark of a true Champ !!:thumbsup

SGx 07-27-2003 02:49 PM

1) french have a lot of consideration for anyone that win the tour

2) french don't have any problems with an american winning the tour, that's called sport :P

3) personnally, i was supporting the germany guy, cause he was the only one that could challenge armstrong, and winning without any competition would have made the tour boring

well done armstrong, and congrats to his team that made him win this tour

Well you may not give a shit..

But to win 5 consecutive championships in ANY sport is quite remarkable..

Throw in the health obstacles he has overcome and still win, now you are talking stories that legends are made of.

Mr. Mojo Risin 07-27-2003 04:58 PM

yeah, I admire him
