All depends..
How many clicks is your hard drive making?
1-2 clicks in a 4 second period = clean
3-5 clicks in a 4 second period = going to die soon
6-10 clicks in a 4 second period = dead

Do you need the information on the harddrive?

I can recommend you an incredible data repair technician if other labs can't retrieve your data. My drive died on me earlier this year, and I sent it to 2 different data recovery labs (one of the so-called 'industry leader'). They both said it couldn't be done.

Then I found this guy who was willing to try... basically rebuilt my drive from the parts sourced from another similar drive. He practically saved my business!

Also, this guy is in New Zealand, so the cost is next to nothing by our standards.

here is a lil ol computer tech trick

clickin hard-drives -
we put them in the freezer for about 4-6 hours .. ... put them back in the machine .. you got about an hour to move your data before the clicking starts again ... you can do it about 3-4 times before it compltly die..... a lil tip..... after you put it in your freezer DO NOT plug it into your main pc ... get a junk pc and do it incase something goes wrong :thumbsup

That's why I love this board. You learn new tricks everyday.

Now I know why I saw those 2 freezers being unloaded in front of CompUSA last week.
