PPC engines
I have been using and mastering PPC engines for about 4 years now since the beginning. I own one, and always liked the concept, but I have to tell you with the major increase in cost per click and more noticeably the quality which is at least 5 times worse than it was just 1 year ago. I am finding myself getting away from almost every ppc engine out there, they can't convert worth a shit, and for sure are hardly even worth 2 cents per click anymore. I have been working with ppc engines full time for 3-4 years and I know them well, and I"ll find my twists to stay alive on the last few, but these ppc engines are making a few big mistakes with the direction they are headed which I can't get into all right now, but it's sad that this area has gone downhill, I've already seen many people take their listings off the ppc engines or put the bids way way down.
good luck to all in the future  |
Yep, just 2000+ webmasters on sex.com wasiting money on ppc that doesn't work and never converts. Not!
No offense, but maybe your doing it wrong. Im making a living off sex.com ppc. |
sex.com, search123, findwhat are the only one we still deal with. It's getting harder and harder to make a return on PPC SE. Unless you have a unique product, it's becoming very tough. Still remember the good old days when we used to spend $2000+ per day on PPC SE with a 200% return :)
Now it's $100 with a %115 return.Still better than the stock market though :( |

I agree, I do this on a limited scale, but i't getting harder to make a profit.
First of all, conversion ratios are getting worser in generall, second PPC SE's compete against each other to get more advertisers by getting more traffic. But more traffic = less quality traffic. Those who bid the top bids are often newbies, who deposit $50 into a PPC SE's, don't make any sale and leave, but new webmasters are coming and doing the same. :2 cents: |
I get 99% of my traffic via ppc, and i find it to be a strange beast. One month i'll get a 100% return on wegcash, only to lose money with them the next month. overall, i do make money, but it takes a lot of trial and error to find programs that work and bid amounts that make sense. you can always bid for the #1 position and gross a lot of $, but you'll never make a profit or a very low ROI by doing that.

I know what I am doing, I have known for 4 years and it's been working great now it sucks, think I am kidding? I won't name the engine but for 2 cent bids I"d get about 20 hits per day and convert 1:7 or 1:10 with free ezine site, now I haven't used it in like 8 weeks, I just put money on it yesterday and I got like
1500 hits per day now, and it was like 1:1100 on Freeticketcash now I have done ppc and ezines for like 3-4 years and done it full time and I know even on a 3rd exit chain, I would still never be that bad. I promise you that the problem isn't that I don't know what I am doing, it's that many others don't know what they are doing. Now without a doubt I think people on overture know what their doing, but c'mon I can go into this conversation really deep with stories of every fellow webmaster I have talked to that A: Have not been accurately tracking conversions B: Don't know how many countries, raw, b.s. is getting shaved, so it always looks like they convert well C: People send to a link .html page that would be very difficult to fully track. I know there are still ways to make money on some engines with certain techiniques etc, but the traffic now is for sure 5 times worse than it use to and I could, like I said go into this conversation for a long time. |
I feel my professionalism has been doubted here, so I must state that back when the engines were good, I could turn 700-800 hits per day into about $18,000-$20,000.
That's a lot per click, these were the days when I could do 300-700% on the ppc engines easily. Keep in mind I did the above with maybe 1-2 engines, most have been better than average, but could never do this. |
$18,000-$20,000 / month I mean

Has named the exact reason that ppc now suck, he phrased it perfectly. Good Job!:thumbsup |
Hey HighRoller - what's your ICQ?
I got some stuff to share :) |

blue Design
I don't have icq on my laptop, on my other computers I do my aim is onewebsiteaim let's talk |
Converting and pumping clicks are 2 different things.
Remember - the offer is a big part too. If you let partners put your click shit in banners and all over the net like googleads does now - your return goes down. We milked that industry for 2 years by not givign a fuck about the engines return. Just fucking them in the ass and taking their money. |
teen as a partner you mean, where you get them traffic?
|
Right. And dont get me wrong - I worked for this company and they forced me to do it. Eventually I quit because they were bullshit. I am starting up on my own and doing everything LEGITIMATE. I believe if they profit, you profit. Everything has to be done RIGHT. I refuse to rip people off.
And yeah - we would pull XML in, and database it. Then send the links out ANY way we could. We would change the text, whatever. It was bullshit. So WATCH what your publishing partners do!!!! They can be the problem 99% of the time. |
