I got a small one here, mostly to keep the important stuff for the house and other important papers, since it's fireproof and all, it's not behind a painting or anything

BigFrog 07-25-2003 02:08 PM

we all know aaronm has one

Gemini 07-25-2003 02:08 PM

Any office supply chain has them. You want it as heavy as you can get it (or lift), 2 hour or more fire rating at 1700 degrees F or more. Sale they go for 200 and regularly up to 500 and more. One that bolts down from the inside is a good feature too.

I have a little electronic one. About 2 feet x 1 foot x 1 foot.

Little fucker weighs about 60 pounds empty.

Put all the pistols and papers and stuff in it, bolt it down and it's there to stay :)

I think I got it at officemax or something. Like.. $75 bucks?

I love it.

I have one hidden in a wall. It came with the house, so not sure how much it cost.

I have a 1200 pound vault
Its 6 feet tall, 3 and a half feet wide
bolted to the floor and has 2 seperate locks that cant be drilled because of the way they are recessed into the door

I paid $2000 for it from some place out of San Antonio, they delievered it for free

I got a fireproof filing cabinet from a liquidation auction. Cost me $15. Combination and Key locks and weighs about 700 lbs. My buddy broke his arm helping me move it in.

What happened to just tying a string to a shotgun and a doorknob and shutting the door? :glugglug

Why 07-25-2003 08:41 PM

i have a safe in my house, but its not really all that huge.

my uncle used to be a jeweler and he had a large safe in his house, had to have a cement block poured for it to sit on so it was at a decent height. crooks popped it off the shelf twice not knowing how much it weighed, but no one ever got it open.

dennisthemenace 07-25-2003 10:12 PM

Small combination fireproof job like $250 and a 4 draw fireproof filing cabinet (700 pounder) was like 1100 both from staples because they delivered 'em.

El Mega 07-25-2003 10:20 PM

nothing as flashy as aaronm's, but it does the job. one set me back a whopping $100, another around $1000.

great for keeping people out of your head stash

Ah...But did you get the fireproofing?

Who the fuck needs a safe anyway?

er...Nevermind. :glugglug

asneed 07-25-2003 10:55 PM

I have a 1 ton safe that'll survive a nuclear blast. I might be dead but I wont be poor.
