Will stopping 3 day trials reduce chargebacks?
Has anyone previously doing trials removed them and found their CB levels improving?
I feel that the negative option conversion of a trial is far more likely to result in a CB than someone who just forgets to cancel their monthly account. If you did this how did it affect CB's and your bottom line? |
Removing trials will usually increase chargebacks.
When people have problems with your site (for whatever reason) they are more likely to do a chargeback if they were charged 34.95 than if they were charged 2.95 In additions trials increase the total amount of transactions, which is good for your transaction-chargeback ratio. |

Good point about the number of transactions. As well in our case I feel we made a mistake when we diversified amongst different processors last October. It diluted the number of transactions going through our main processor, and that difference would have been significant. |
