Releasing the pics was a little rub against military protocol but it was a good idea they released them because we Americans cannot believe a word our Gov't says.

The Iraqis would tie those 2 bodies to a car and drive them around the city or just drag them through the city similar to the statutes head or perhaps the somalia soldiers.

The US at least just killed them and will end it there instead of seeing the Iraqia parade the bodies around mutilating the corpses.

Charly, if those two knew ANYthing, trust that they would have been flapping their yaps all over the Arabic media outlets to save their butts. Bullies rarely go to their grave when they have any sort of card to play.

I guess the pics weren't nearly as bad as I expected them to be. But then I have talked with people who have been to war and heard their rather graphic descriptions. We're dealing with a different culture that seems to need to see photo proof for whatever reason. If they believe it fine, if they don't fine. From what it seems like, over there, the grapevine will pass the word that those two actually are gone from their hideouts and sooner or later they will believe it.

The question should be not whether we needed to satisfy the Iraqi people but whether we could release the photos without upseting other countries.

Old England had similar tactics... setting the head of killed enemies on London Bridge for all to see. That didn't turn out to be very popular.
