Did we go too far?

By releasing the video of the bodies of Saddam's sons?

I dunno, I havent made my mind up yet... They looked really bad...

Babaganoosh 07-25-2003 06:53 AM

Nope, the Iraqi people thought we were full of shit. It was just a way to gain some much needed credibility with them.

I think so, and I also think its added more fuel to the fire. Saddam is probably writing out checks as we speak.
Innocent people will pay the price of course.

s9ann0 07-25-2003 07:01 AM

why you think the public is willing to goto war but not wanting to see the results of it?

dropped9 07-25-2003 07:01 AM

I think we are damned if we dont and damned if we do!
No one will ever be happy. If we didn't release anything, we would be told we wre liars and blah blah blah...

And obviously you see what happens when we do...

You come in their country, you kill thousands of innocent people, no more electricy and water and you kill Sadam's son and put it on TV, They gonna love you..

They have been exposed to brutality for years by their goverment. I think some would be rejoicing when seeing this on tv.

For christs sake, Uday raped his best friend's bride on their wedding day. And then insisted to pay her for her services.

If that was me, I'd be pissed they didnt let me take care of them boys...

LeeNoga 07-25-2003 07:27 AM

Releasing the pics was a little rub against military protocol but it was a good idea they released them because we Americans cannot believe a word our Gov't says.

digi 07-25-2003 07:29 AM

ofcourse not!

hypocracy seems to be the theme in all of bush's actions!

Damned if we do, damned if we don't. Fuck everyone else, we should always do what's best for us.

You make it sound like Saddam and his sons were beloved leaders of Iraq. Gimmie a break.

sherie 07-25-2003 07:31 AM

Ugh! The before and after pic's were on the front page of todays newspaper....Always nice to see when your hungover and starving!

Paul Markham 07-25-2003 07:32 AM

What would have been better the video of them dead or a video of them on trial in The Hague for crimes against Humanity.

Maybe they knew something Bush does not want them to tell.

EscortBiz 07-25-2003 07:39 AM

people who want to believe that they are still alive will always believe that regardless how many videos you show

The Iraqis would tie those 2 bodies to a car and drive them around the city or just drag them through the city similar to the statutes head or perhaps the somalia soldiers.

The US at least just killed them and will end it there instead of seeing the Iraqia parade the bodies around mutilating the corpses.

Gemini 07-25-2003 07:46 AM

Charly, if those two knew ANYthing, trust that they would have been flapping their yaps all over the Arabic media outlets to save their butts. Bullies rarely go to their grave when they have any sort of card to play.

I guess the pics weren't nearly as bad as I expected them to be. But then I have talked with people who have been to war and heard their rather graphic descriptions. We're dealing with a different culture that seems to need to see photo proof for whatever reason. If they believe it fine, if they don't fine. From what it seems like, over there, the grapevine will pass the word that those two actually are gone from their hideouts and sooner or later they will believe it.

You have more chance to see this kind of shit in Texas or alabama :1orglaugh

Jeffery 07-25-2003 07:50 AM

The question should be not whether we needed to satisfy the Iraqi people but whether we could release the photos without upseting other countries.

I don't really like releasing photos of dead bodies.

Old England had similar tactics... setting the head of killed enemies on London Bridge for all to see. That didn't turn out to be very popular.

This seems like the equivalent in the new information age.

This is a highly personal thing for GWB.

Saddam tried to have GWB Sr. assissnated a few years ago.

GWB Jr. is going to wipe Saddmams' family off the map now for what Saddam tried to do.

I have to give it to GWB, he's delivering gangster style ghetto justice on the Iraqi leaders and all that are down with them. there will be no more embargoes / no diplomatic pressure, The boys are going to end your world and everyone's world that is around you straight up.

Maybe the terrorists that are out there will get the message, Dont think that the United States is soft for 1 second. Try to step and get bitch slapped into eternity.

beergood 07-25-2003 08:22 AM

Yeah I do have to say that 5 years ago it seemed to me that the rest of the world thought the USA were just a bunch of overgrown pussies who wouldn't step up and kick some ass.

Now they think we're crazy. Better to be feared than loved if you can't be both I guess.

galleryseek 07-25-2003 08:25 AM

fuckin a', george bush is the man

Kanoealoha 07-25-2003 08:27 AM

I read the topic title and thought you were talking about porn.

Yeah, lets not watch a video of some dead guys, but lets jack off to some chick taking it in all holes while a midget pees on her another chick licks the piss off, then a TS shits on all of them and they feast on it after...

No, we didn't go to far, the Iraqi ppl asked for the bodies to be dragged in the street, so that they could be 100% sure they're dead.

The problem is they believe it's an eternity spent with 24 virgins sitting at Allahs right hand or something like that.

And that is what GWB will never understand, if he ever wanted to. The people in Iraq think different to the people in Idaho.

beergood 07-25-2003 08:34 AM

He(or someone in his cabinet) understands that the Iraqis understand force and he's using it.

Ignortant? Sounds like you might be the one who's ignortant. Just a few years ago a group of white guys tied a black guy to the back of their truck and drove around for a while...obviously dragging the guy to his death. Happened in Texas, Alamaba or Tennessee...not positive where but it happened like he said.
