siccash is closing accounts
As you may know, both Visa and Mastercard have implemented very stringent rules for adult related credit card processors based on the huge increases in fraudulent activity involving credit cards, especially with regard to internet/surfer usage for various goods and services. Excessive chargebacks and credits can cost a credit card processor large sums of money in penalties and fines (which are passed on to the various webmaster programs who use the credit card processor). At worst, it can cost a processor its merchant account; and a processor can lose the ability to process credit card transactions.
One of our credit card processors flagged this account for irregular activity. Upon review of your account?s activity since Jan. 2003, it was noted that an abnormal number of signups referred through your webmaster account have been credited or charged back. We have been informed by the credit card processor that they will not be accepting further referrals from this account. Because of this, we have been forced to close this account. We will be sending you 1 check for $120 as final payment (this includes $30 for a signup in payout period 7/13-7/20; none have booked since). Please remove all links from your websites that direct traffic to S.I.C. Cash before July 27, 2003 (the end of the next payout period), as any future signups will not be paid (of course, any signups occurring between this email notice and July 27, 2003, that clear fraud review will be paid). S.I.C.Cash has decided to take the pro-active approach to the new Visa/MC regulations. We devised a plan and presented it to Epoch ourselves, exhibiting to Epoch what we would do to make sure our company as a whole was not a problematic chargeback issue. Part of our plan was to eradicate any accounts with a history of high chargebacks or credits per amount of transactions. This was done on an anonymous basis by account number and given to accounting. Since there are always acceptions, we did include a contact email, to send in any rebuttals or questions. If contacted, we will go back and review any account that we have closed and present to the webmaster the reasoning behind the initial closing or overturn our primary decision. lastly this is a 100% business decision and nothing personal. Give credit where credit is due. At least you're getting paid for remaining transactions and any other monies owed to you. If a company terminates you for cause and doesn't hold any money back then there's nothing bad you can say about them.

Yes they have to do something
Fix the inside of those cookie cuter sites AND go after friendly fraud via collection agencies. Consumers have gotten accustomed too much to just charging back. Blacklisting CC numbers that have high chargebacks too :BangBang: |
I think its a bad thing but its something that has to be done. Its a fact that certain traffic does more chargebacks than other traffic, regardless of the website it is sent to......yea search engines/dmoz describing what's on the tour and keywords related to the site niche...if that's not targetting traffic I don't know what is. But I guess cross sales , ease of charging back , surfers getting off , the recession , and sponsors not standing up to cc companies all come in to play.Oh well , I'm going to send the traffic to a dialer and hope for better results.

hey, jigg, i think i've seen you post that about another program.
if the program has a low chargeback ratio of under 2.5% and only a few webmasters are over it, i don't think that the site is the problem. going after the fraudulent members will help you collect your money but the account will still show a chargeback, i believe. |

In theory it's great we always payout an acount if we shut them off for whatever reason. which is rare but If its a fraudulant webmaster with like 10 hits and 5 sales I doubt they will get paid and they probably wouldn't even complain since they got busted. But if it a webmaster trying hard and just having bad luck with his sales. I think the sponsor should take a look at what they are doing and try to help them out.:2 cents: |
