Seems to get harder to find someone special as you get older... Was so much easier back in the college times :)

Thats because as you get older you judge books less by the cover and more by what's inside.

Not usually, but when my ex-wife has my son for the weekend or when he's off to school, its like a part of me is missing. It just gets too damn quiet. Kids create a constant noise level you get used to, be it from running around, watching cartoons, playing with the PS2, etc. and when they are gone its like a library all of a sudden.

I'm starting to see one of the most difficult things with having children is getting so bonded, and then realizing you have to let go more and more till one day they are off to college, have their own family and that's the end of it.

Its very, very depressing when you dedicate so much of your life and soul to raising them and the time from when they are born to when they leave the nest goes by too quick.

i enjoy the quiet... i work at home and dont leave the house but to go out of town or small errands. My hubby takes the kids out just to give me my house in total peace and quiet... i have the whole freaking neighborhood that hangs in my yard. I also have the hell spawn that creates chaos in my house unless he is sleeping. I am so looking forward to him starting first grade this year... i get quiet from 8 am to 3 pm for 9 months...i truly dont know what i might do..get a real job maybe :1orglaugh

Exact same situation. I have custody of both our kids. Hell, I get depressed when I drop them off at school. :(
