Anybody own a bowflex?
I'm thinking of buying one and I want to hear about other webmasters' experiences with it.
|
And what makes you think webmasters' opinions on the bowflex is creditable?
|
I will tell you right now, you probably dont have a room big enough for it, Ever notice how they show people working out using that machine and they are in like a fucking factory or a gymnasium? the thing has like a 15 foot wingspan haha.

I bought one off of ebay for $1000... sold it a year later for $1250. It worked well, but damn I just didnt have the room for it. Now I just use free weights and a bench, getting similar results, although I liked the bowflex better.

The models on the bowflex commercials...
They did NOT get that way with bowflex. |
I don't own one but I've used one. It's super clunky and has a very "rubbery" feeling, if that makes sense. When I work out I like hearing metal screatching, it sets the proper beat to the workout routine. That thing is very monotonous and doesn't give you an even feedback. In general, it's a POS.
If you decide to go to a gym, stay the fuck away from large gyms like Bally's. For more info look here: http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...ight=workou t |

I have The Crossbow, which is similar to bowflex and it's big.
The tower is about 6'5 and it's 5'9 wide. It's pretty good ,can't complain and it's cheaper than the Bowflex. Only complaint is it doesn't have a leg extention like the Bowflex you have to do it standing up which is a bit weird |

funny how many people fall for it thou all the bodybuilders use plain old free wights, push ups, etc |

We have a Bowflex at work... I like it. It's probably not as effective as free weights, but it's more convenient.
|
300 lbs of Olympic weight and a Olympic bench is all i use almost 3x's a day. sure beats going to the gym
|
I've had a bowflex for a few years. Still love it. Worth every penny. Even used it at my Martial Arts school when i first bought it. It was heavily used right out of the box, works just as good now as it did then. Tip: overlap the power rods when finished working out., will keep them straight as an arrow
|
bowflex is crap... go to a real gym ya pussies
|
i bought one awhile back than sold it a few months later. it was a bitch to put together and in my opinion a total waste of money. invest in some dumbells like escortbiz said and you get better results for a fraction of the price.
