Had a tumor, not of that type though.

For me surgical removal of 95% then radiation for the rest. Gone ever since. Was not cancerous though.

my wife had a pituitary tumor....for 10 years that we know of.

she had 3 craniophryngiomas and 1 surgery through her nose.

all were unsuccessful. she had radiation after that....it was in 97 i believe....she had the maximum amount you could have.
that still didnt get rid of the tumor....it barely even shrunk it.

several times she was told she had very little time to live, and after the radiation failed she was told there was nothing that could be done.....she had too much scar tissue for another surgery to be successful.

in february of 2000 she had scans done and the neurosurgeons couldnt find any trace of her tumor. we were all amazed.

wanna know what my wife and i think got rid of her tumor?
believe it or not, we both believe it was marijuana. she started smoking heavily in late 99 after her last scans showed the tumor was getting bigger.

anyway, if you want some questions answered or want to talk, i'd be happy to get my wife online for ya.

I wouldnt be suprised if Mary Jane was the culprit that cured your wife. It still has so many unknown medical benefits.

Big Frog,

Thank you so much for sharing this..

The doctor suspects my husband has one by the level of prolactin in his blood. He will have to have an mri soon and already has a prescription of medicine that should shrink it.

I have been fighting with him for about 12 years now telling him that he had something wrong with him cause his lack of hormones etc. Hell, it was the only thing I ever fought with him about..

I thought I would ask around about other experiences so I will be ready for this...

the doctors believe my wife had her tumor since she was born. i asked my wife about this and she came up with these questions for ya.

does your husband look young? basically does he look younger than he actually is? is he short?

does your husband have a problem with stress?

does your husband have a very small to non existant sex drive?

does your husband have mood swings?

does your husband sleep alot?

does he have severe headaches?

if you answered yes to most of these then it's highly possible he does have something wrong with his pituitary gland...maybe not a tumor, but it is possible.
make him go for the scans...it's the only way to know for sure.

if your husband does have one i feel for ya....truly i do.

Plan9 07-24-2003 11:44 PM

GFY has its very own tumor. I call it MetaMan :winkwink:

Wow. Please tell your wife thank you for me ...:)

His sisters are short but he is 6 foot. He does look young for his age..

Yes , to all the rest..

One of my best German Shepherds, bless her soul, had tumors. The vet gave her 1 year and said there wasn't anything he could effectively do. She died a year later.

I have never had a pituitary tumor, so really I'm not sure what that would be like, but I am at this very moment waiting for my doctor to call me about my bloodwork. I've had cervical/ovarian tumors and they think that I may have a malignancy now that's going to be too big to remove surgically.

We'll see.

Best of luck to you and your husband, it's a long road ahead. :(

I have had a boner for you for the longest time. It would be a shame for our digital relationship to vaporize due to the mismanagement at globill.

Hit me up next time you are in Edmonton!

Did you not read the symptoms of the tumor, poopie?

My name is a joke cause of my married situation...

I am not worried about globill. It's only 20 percent of my income..

I have never been to Edmonton..

Found out not too long after posting in this thread that I do indeed have a malignancy. Now we just wait and see what happens, I go back on the 8th for more tests.

I'll keep ya posted. :glugglug

You must be RICH to write off a %20 loss.

Edmonton is kewl. Just spent 10 minutes outside zapping moths.

Honeyslut 09-10-2003 02:14 PM

Well, after waiting since 7/23 we have the results..

My hub has a pituitary tumor of about 8 mm and has to take medicine..

Check out the sypmtoms of one so you don't have to go thru YEARS of being DEPRIVED l like I have had to do and have to watch your loved one deterioate cause they were too stubborn to KEEP bitching at the doctors.....

http://www.pituitary.com/faq/#9

Simple blood test can show certain levels in the gland that will detect the tumor before mri.. I would suggest that anyone that has a thyroid problem to DEMAND the testing.

My husband was showing symptoms of a tumor when I met him in 85 and being the naive person that I was it took me 5 years to figure out , something was wrong with the old sex drive.. I have spent another 12 years fighting with him about his symptoms...

Pituitary tumors are VERY common and about 1 out of 5 people have them..

Bull..

Tumors cause impotency since your body is depleted of male hormones...

It is not a state of mind... It is a medical fact...
