WMV's trying to download not stream

i just did a full install of Win XP Pro on one of my machines, and now WMV's refuse to stream from the web. IE attempts to download them.

it's only happening with this specific machine. upgraded to Media Player 9, but problem still persists.

any tips on how to fix it? thanx.
