acacia related question...sorry
i havent been served yet, but i do have a question for everyone.
when you download software from download.com or wherever....exe, zip....what is the difference between downloading a video file? mpg, avi, wmv.... i have video on my site that ive created myself.....i filmed it....captured it....edited it....converted it....and uploaded it. when one of my members saves one of my videos to their harddrive it downloads the same way a video would....so what is the difference? anyone ever hang out at the movie forums like moviemart and shit.....back in the day, and even now....there are people who want to share vids but cant afford hosting....so they go to a freehost or a "filesharing" host......but most of these hosts dont allow video.....so they rename the file.....instead of being analsex.mpg they change it to analsex.txt or analsex.exe. after your done downloading the file you just rename it to whatever the file extension should be.....and it works. so what is the difference? i can understand having a patent on streaming....but not on downloading....it just doesnt make sense. can anyone clue me in? |
