Moving to New England

Just a quick note, now that it is official. I will be moving to New England, probably New Hampshire, as of late September.

My businesses will be continuing as normal. I will be stocking up on my more popular models, and some other new ones, and then beginning to find new faces over the coming year or so.

Now, all I need to do is find a place, etc. Argh.

A few. After all, I grew up there, so there must be some goths. Mostly, I suspect I will be looking to Mass for the goth population.

Brisk was there for 2 days ten years ago. I'm sure he'll tell you it's a boring shithole. You better not move there.

well if you have to leave OLD England then New England is a great place to go. I lived in Boston for while..great city. If I ever go back I want to aim for that part of the world too.

Going to go to Salem and do a shoot there?

delia 07-24-2003 12:26 PM

Oh, moving sucks. You must have a strong reason to do it? Would you share it?

nxventures 07-24-2003 12:34 PM

X (Dr. Yet?) you gotta get in touch if you're moving to New Hampshah. [email protected]. What region are you looking at?

And yes, there are some cute goth girls up here.

I lived there most of my life. I'm used to the winters. Kindof miss them, in a twisted way.

yup...but it is still a great town. If I had the means to have two homes - one on either side of the Atlantic - I would never hesitate to live in the Cape Ann area.

Yeah. But you know how sometimes you can't resist clicking, even though you know you will regret it? It's like a train wreck... Or a Lawrence Connor thread.

Ludedude 07-25-2003 09:18 AM

I was home for three weeks around Christmas, and loved the two 2+ foot snowstorms we had while I was home.

Good luck to you :)

Man, NH is boring. Used to live outside of Manchester. There is NOTHING to do and no cool places to go at night. You have to wait for winter for any excitement - snowmobiles, skiing, etc. The rest of the year is pretty dead, unless you're a hunter.

Got a place on Long Lake in Naples, Maine... spend alot of the summer there. 3 jet skis (brand new one currently has about 12 ft of rope stuck inside --- working on it!) 2 boats, and 3 acres on the water with 200ft of private beach with dock access. Tons of hot rich girls up there all summer long. The rest of the year, in southern NH is, as you said, snowmobiles and snowboarding.

It really depends on what you like to do. I was never short of things to do, but admittedly I'm not big into nightlife.

Hey All!

I lived in Salem, MA for four years. I loved living there. It is close to the city, on the water and we have our own resident witches....It is a very funky place to live. I used to get a kick going into the coffee shops, and upon seeing a witch would ask her, "Are you a good witch or a bad witch?!" They used to get so irritated....Hey, it is a cold winter and if you can make it out the door through the weather, the silliest things can entertain you.

I think there are a lot of great areas to live either on the North Shore of MA or Southern NH.

Check out Portsmouth: It is accessible to highways, has history, a great downtown area, super dining, bars, on the water.....

Best of Luck to You

I'm looking at it right now. Gorgeous day. I think in a few minutes I will go outside and check out the seafood place down the street.

It is expensive as hell to live here though.

You won't find any. New England isn't really doesn't have too many colleges ;)

You may have to go north to Stowe. Lot's of freaks up there.

...there is quite a healthy population of overprivileged white college girls who are in denial about how easy their lives really are and thus lash out at society by becoming anti society, and with their refusal to work mainstream jobs comes an inherent lack of spending money. I think Ian will do just fine anywhere in New England, especially in southern NH where there are over 500,000 college kids in a one hour radius.

I love Portsmouth.....My Grandmother actually spent her childhood living (I believe) in the Govenor Wentworth home, which is now in Strawberry Banks.

Do you live there, visiting?....

I haven't been to Portsmouth in ages (am from the north shore in MA) but would love to live vicariously through you.....which seafood restaurant?

gothweb 07-26-2003 04:10 PM

I am looking forward to finding out. I wonder if I will get any of my old friends to get their kit off.
