Dj Shadow is pretty good, might be more jungle though, haven't followed the scene in years

Pornwolf 07-23-2003 12:23 AM

Shy FX is my current fave. Yeah, they aren't as hardcore on their albums as they are live but they are one of the few groups taking D&B to the next level.

Kosheen's Hide you and Suicide are also pretty crazy.

Aphrodite's current stuff and of course old Goldie from the Timeless album is hot. Roni Size did some really cool and jazzy stuff that won tons of awards then he fell the fuck off. He even had a couple of good songs with folks like Method Man and others.

TDF you gotta see the way a crowd goes crazy. It's a whole different kinda energy.

Check out http://www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra/ for their charts and the latest and hottest D&B as well as other stuff they are feelin across the pond.

pornJester 07-23-2003 12:24 AM

someone suggest some specific songs, i'm gonna get my download on, i need some new shit.

AssFairy 07-23-2003 12:34 AM

Sven Vath is the lord and master of techno, bow before him.
I've seen dozens of big names spinning the discs and NOBODY comes within the half way mark towards sven's talents, when this guy is on form he will tear your fucking brain out :thumbsup

In the early 80's the "orbit" http://www.orbit48.com/ was considered to be the best techno club in Europe (by FAR) and most of the big names would fly over and play for free because they all loved the place (without its reputation it could never have afforded the people who played there)

Ahhhhh how I miss those original sounds :)

XxXotic 07-23-2003 12:37 AM

dub plate pressure - sniper remix - one of the best tracks ever produced
six million ways - dope skillz
beep me 911 - ganja cru remix
so damn tuff - prisoners of technology
rinsing quince - aphrodite

do a search for progression sessions, they're likely to be large files, full mix CD's, theyre WELL worth the download.

Oh, I forgot! Check out The Blade II soundtrack. There's some really hot collabos with Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, and Volume 10 (remember Pistol Grip Pump). Volume 10's song is hot. It's called Raised In Da Hood.

1Xtra is unbeatable, the Heartless Crew sessions are epic - a little bit of D&B, a little bit of Bashment, a little Garage - and sometimes just completely random shit.

it kinda sucks that people group Jungle in with DnB because DnB came from Jungle...which came from DanceHall Reggae

DnB is ok....but true jungle is where it's at...beat juggling and phat mixing rather than house-style set-it-and-forget-it beatmatching....

Still got plenty o love for DnB tho..

DJ Hive...
Goldie...
Freaky Flow/Flipside
LTJ
photek !!!
squarepusher !!!
Amon Tobin !!!
DJ SS
Special K
Digital
Ed Rush and Optical
DJ Rap -- well, she's fucking hot...
Juju

almost anything from Congo Natty label...
