my MS Frontpage is fucked...what to do?

I don't know what in the fuck happened but everytime I try to open a file in frontpage, the shit just freezes on me...I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software and I've overwritten the html files by redownloading them...but the shit still doesn't work.

Is this the kick in my ass that I've needed to go ahead and get dreamweaver? or can I just figure out a way to fix this shit and not have it cost me any money?

Any suggestions on how to get this frontpage to work again?

I'd rather nail my cock to my forehead (yes, it'll reach) than use FrontPage.

Solution: Learn HTML, use notepad.

ok, now everything is starting to run slow....I'm starting to get scared...I also got a warning that I was low on virtual membery..I have 1/3 of my c drive free so I don't see the problem

Amputate Your Head 07-22-2003 07:36 PM

OK follow my instructions to fix your frontpage.

1) hit start button
2) control panel
3) find add/remove programs icon
4) click that icon
5) scroll till you see ms frontpage or whatever its call
6) hit the remove button

That should fix it right up :thumbsup

Try manually deleting all the temp files you can find under windows, then dump your cache, and defrag it with a reboot in between about 3 times straight. Hitting delete in IE etc does NOT delete all the temp files. And they can seriously add up and cause a system to slow down.

Check your system with Norton (windoctor) if you have it too. If you have a lot of buildup in the registry from programs-spyware that left behind reference lines then that can also slow down the reg reads. I assume you have no working spyware or kazaa or bearshare etc.

Nahhh Amp Connor... Lawrence's brother. lol

man I got all kinds of spyware on this shit that I can't get rid of...and I have kazaa on it....I'm about to run the Macafee quick clean to see if that will fix it...but first, I should run adaware to try to get rid of the save now stuff..

The web you are trying to load into FP is corrupted. Here's what you do

Create a new web with FP, then copy and paste all the files of the old web into the new thru FP. FP will clean up the old web and make it readable. DO NOT copy and paste thru explorer. Do it thru FP.

I reformatted my pc countless times before I finally figured out the problem. LOL You can open and manipulate a web with FP only so many times until it becomes corrupted

fuck I never thought of that...I used to do that all the time with my old gateway....But now I have the clean shit and adaware running...

Thanks for reminding me

That "Save!" comes from kazaa and bearshare etc and won't go away without uninstalling the p2p program (if you're lucky it will uninstall too. lol)

A real good tool to have running is Nortons Registry tracker. Then you can check to see what spyware gets installed from time to time and delete it right from there in your registry.

On FP, don't use the web feature, build each page independent from the others... it doesn't take alot more work to build sites that way. Then the html files won't corrupt.

And reinstalling Windows over itself once every 6 mos or so will help keep your system running abit better. So many programs screw with things that even WinDoctor etc have a time at keeping it all straight.

One other thing, if you have more than one memchip and the system starts acting balky, remove all but one chip and then see how the system runs. If it seems ok, remove that chip and check the next one alone. Do that for all the chips. If one is failing you can usually pick up on it and get it out of the system to replace.

yeah I would like to but I'm too cheap and lazy...Plus I took choker's advice and made a new web with FP...Then I deleted all of the bullshit temp files and other shit....So now I'm as good as new...
