Acacia patent: What seems to be the fucking problem?
 

It would seem to me that it should be a fairly simple task for the patent office to open a few files, and find out if they have a fucking claim or not.... ?

And let's just suppose for a minute that they actually DO have the patent on this shit.... why are they just now beginning to fight for it?

You haven't been paying attention, they DO have it, the question only is if they are still allowed to keep in todays world. So far the answer is yes.

Acacia didn't actually get the patents themselves, in 2001 they bought a company that originally had the patents, and the "ownership" transfered over to Acacia.
