U.S. Official: Saddam Sons Possibly Found in Iraq
Tue July 22, 2003 11:19 AM ET
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Saddam Hussein's two sons may have been found in Iraq during a shoot-out in Mosul in which U.S. soldiers killed four high-ranking Iraqis, U.S. officials said on Tuesday.
"There is a pretty decent chance" that Saddam's sons Uday and Qusay were there during the shoot-out, one official told Reuters on condition of anonymity.

the bbc is being really cautious but are reporting it.

MOSUL, Iraq ? U.S. soldiers stormed a house in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul (search) Tuesday, killing four key allies of Saddam Hussein (search) who were hiding inside, and a U.S. official told Reuters there was a "decent chance" that Saddam's sons were inside.
Translated: 'We shot some mother fucking iraqis in the northern iraqi city of Mosul. 4 sand jigaboos down so far and some dick in a tie wanted to inflate the report so it was released that Saddam's sons could have been inside as well because it makes for a good read.'

BigFrog 07-22-2003 08:28 AM

there is no confirmation on this.

all other news channels are saying it's possible....

leave it to fox news to report a story not based on facts....

Here goes 30 million ....

Saw on Historia yesterday a docu on the Sons... Real creazy freaky son's of a bitch... Torture, mass execution, ... really bad shit.

Nobody civilized will cry if they are dead... But still doesn't justify or legitimize that invasion...

600 deads in Liberia today and yesterday. How long will Bush wait to " liberate" that country. French and Britts troops are already " enforcing peace" in the adjacent countries....

I know: no oil... no influence on Israel !

Saddam 'may be injured or dead'

Ed Vulliamy in Washington
Sunday March 23, 2003
The Observer

The Pentagon yesterday fuelled speculation that Saddam Hussein was killed or severely injured during the war's opening exchanges.
Sources inside the Pentagon told The Observer that there was a 'credible circumstantial case' for believing that Saddam had 'disappeared in one way or other - deceased or too badly incapacitated to be an effective ruler'.

April 01, 2003

WASHINGTON - "Iraq is Saddam and Saddam is Iraq," the strongman is fond of saying.
The Bush administration agrees. Even though they publicly deny they are on a one-man hunt, top U.S. officials remain transfixed by Saddam Hussein, fueling speculation about his fate over the weekend.

Did he die or was he seriously injured in the massive surprise bombing of his daughter's heavily guarded residential compound in southern Baghdad in the war's opening attack? Is he wielding power while secreted in deep concrete bunkers and underground escape tunnels? Is he negotiating exile in Syria? Have his family and the families of other high-level Iraqi officials already fled there?

No one seems to know for sure, not even Mohammad al Douri, the Iraqi envoy to the United Nations, who for days has attested that Saddam is alive because he has seen him on television.

By MICHAEL WOODS, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

WASHINGTON ? Are they dead or alive?

The answer to that question about Saddam Hussein and his sons likely will hinge on analysis of DNA recovered at the scene of the latest coalition attempt to decapitate the Iraqi leadership.

Bodies can be identified from facial features; clues such as scars and old surgical procedures; clothing, jewelry and other personal effects.

The gold standards for positive identification, however, are fingerprints, dental records and DNA ? especially DNA, when only fragments of human tissue remain.

Washington, April 12

The fate of Saddam Hussein is still unclear but US officials have started leaning slightly toward the view that the Iraqi leader is probably dead, US officials said.

US intelligence agencies have picked up communications or 'chatter' by Iraqis on the periphery of Saddam's toppled government saying they believed he had died.

April 25, 2003 (WASHINGTON) ? President Bush says "some evidence" exists that U.S. air strikes on the first night of the Iraq war may have killed or severely wounded Saddam Hussein.

That would clear up some other mysteries, he told NBC's Tom Brokaw, including why there weren't more oil field fires, why dams weren't blown up and why the Iraqi defense of Baghdad was so uncoordinated.
