did it happen to any of you? when i launched ICQ Lite yesterday I got a prompt to upgrade to the new version, tried to ignore it but eventually I noticed that the fucking thing wouldn't start unless I agreed to download the new version.

New version has banners everywhere they can stick them.
Does regular ICQ have banners? Some third party software I should download?

Yeah, same thing happened to me and I didn'y like the new version...

Someone told me to upgrade to icq pro...it's at least better then the new version if icq lite...........:winkwink:

i hate the smilies on ICQ, they are grotesque.

yep. i had to install the enw version with ads. need a adblocker ;) somebody here has a ad blocker for the new icq lite?

ICQ lite working fine for me. It becomes beta with last release, before that it was in alpha stage. Which version are you using?

I think I'll migrate to some Open Source alternative now. Miranda IM or similar. Uses very little CPU power and works with MSN.

I have an older version of ICQ and I can't even get it to stay on anymore!! :( If I'm gone for a couple hours it invariably has stopped working and I have to restart it. REALLY beginning to piss me off. :mad:
