Questions about Caller ID.
 

I'm going to get Caller ID. I'm sick of strange phone calls and hang-ups. How much does it usually cost? A lot of my calls are long distance, will it pick up those numbers?

Would be even better yet if I could run my whole phone system through my computer, any suggestions or ideas?

caller display is the shit if your getting strange calls ..
Or get the service that makes them say their name before they can call with a private number .

im surpirsed when I see poeple who don't have caller id yet...
i'm paying like 7bucks a month for it, and it even rings differently if its l/d on call waiting, i don't need visual caller ID, since the other incoming number can be faked

If you got hi-speed internet, get vonage..

39 bucks unlimted calls (local, long distance) and you get all those damn features for free that your local company likes to tack on

its 4 bucks here.Also get that feature that wont allow blocked numbers to come through.I was getting Fax's at 4 in the morning and fucking computer generated solicitors..Not any more :)

If you are really want to know who is calling, they have a service where you must either say your name or press 0 to unblock your number.

Then again you can get caller ID and tell your phone company that you will not accept blocked numbers, that way they have to unblock it to get a hold of you...

the problem with strange phone calls is that they (the fucker trying to mess with you) will block their caller info. so nothing shows up. i know with my cell i can request to block all calls that don't send their caller id info... but then you can miss important calls, since many legitimate people also block their caller id info from being sent.

Ugh, so I have to live with the freaks? Prank calls are one thing, but strange calls are just plain strange, haha.
